I didn’t do much decorating for Halloween this year. In fact, virtually none. I don’t think a couple of ghost cans, a dish of candy corn and some autumn themed placemats count as decorating.
Normally, I do a pretty good job of tricking out the house for holidays all year long. The kids were a little disappointed but really Halloween is mostly about the candy for them. I told myself that the reason I didn’t do any real decorating for Halloween this year was because I was gone or had houseguests 19 of the 31 days in October. But I’ve been lying to myself. The real reason is that I am afraid of the horror (or horer in Violet speak) I’ve made of my attic. I climbed up there today to get out my Thanksgiving decorations – looked around and quickly climbed back down and shut the access door. I definitely need to put re-organizing the attic on my to-do list. Steph, Eric and Alex will be back tomorrow so I’ll get right to it after they go home on Friday. Damn AAADD. PS - I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch today.
