Eric continues marching step-by-step toward his deployment to Iraq. Yesterday, his unit completed their Readiness & Deployment checklist at the Soldier Readiness Center (SRC). Checking to make sure that shots, training and other records are up-to-date. That Eric’s Family Care Plan is acceptable. That his insurance, will and powers-of-attorney are squared away.
His unit has been notified of their departure date. I’ve been asked not to disclose the exact date the unit will be departing for Iraq on this website for security reasons until after they are in-country. I can tell you that his departure is imminent. Eric will be spending the next year of his life in a war zone. I hope that, regardless of your position on this war, you will join Steve & I in supporting Eric and Stephanie during his deployment.
