After yesterday’s long winded post, I thought I’d keep it short and sweet today.
My oldest child, Amber and I have many things in common. She’s intelligent - so am I. She loves to read - so do I. She likes to write - so do I. She likes to get on a rant about the inequities of life - so do I. She has a stubborn streak a mile wide - so does her father. (hee hee)
One thing we don’t have in common is a love of beer (credit father here also). I can take a beer or leave it. Generally leaving it is my choice. I just don’t like the taste all that much. Amber however is a beer connoisseur.
I mentioned before that Amber would be writing a new column for the MSSU paper this semester that is all about beer. The column is called All About Beer (naturally!). They are paying her $500 a semester - to write about beer! Unfortunately, she’s spending $750 per semester “doing research” for her new column. Research, research, research…it’s a tough job, but Amber’s got to do it. Read her debut column here.
Amber also had a rant of her own in the paper today. I won’t be getting any grandchildren from her anytime soon - and that’s OK with me. I remember a time in my life when children were the last thing I wanted. I changed my mind eventually, maybe she will too. Maybe not. In the spirit of yesterday’s post, I won’t be the one asking her when she’s going to settle down and produce little Ambers. I will be happy with her choices and limit my baby smelling to Alexander for now. Surely with 6 children I will have my fill of grandchildren even if some choose not to reproduce. :-)
Also, I blog for fun but Amber’s blogging for a grade. Check out her musings and favorite comics at Webcomics Weeder.
That is all.
