Vicki called the other day to ask about how much it costs to mail a package to Iraq. She’s getting her letter and care package ready to go since she volunteered for the month of April.
It doesn’t cost much - just like sending a small package to New York.
I noticed she was the last person on the list. No volunteer for May yet. Have you volunteered to send a letter and care package to Eric? He really appreciates them.
A care package is one of those simple little things that mean so much to the person receiving it. It’s really hard to keep up your morale while far from home. Care packages help Eric stay connected to our family. Letters keep him up to date on what is going on back here and help him feel a little less like he’s missing out on everything.
You don’t need to worry about not sending the “right” thing (except toothpaste - NO MORE TOOTHPASTE!). The most important thing will be that you thought to send something. Nothing sucks more than mail call with no mail.
Eric still has a long time to go before his tour in Iraq is done. Will you volunteer to send a care package? Check out the Support Our Soldier page. Send me an email for the month you would like to send something.
“I love all the boxes I get. THANK YOU ALL FOR THE LOVE AND SUPPORT!!!! Till next time. Love Eric
”
You know who else could use a “Care Call”? Stephanie. She’s doing pretty good as a suddenly single parent but it’s a lonely gig. I mean, sure Alex is about as cute as can be but his conversation skills are sadly lacking. She’d appreciate a phone call or an email. If you need her e-address or phone number, it’s in the address book or I can send it to you.
