Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda…

Poor poor website. You’ve been so neglected lately. Nearly 2 months without a post!

There were lots of things I could have written about like April getting the Golden Shoe award for the 2nd year in a row, Jon’s pseudo Prom date or even the last band concert of the year.

Mother’s day came and went without even the slightest mention of how great my mom is (trust me, she is!). I also didn’t tell you how great the annual Mother’s Day Tea Party was - btw, it was great. Then Father’s day came and went - again with absolutely no mention of what a great father I have or what a great father Steve is or really any mention of greatness anywhere in the father kingdom.

Even worse than failing to mention Mother or Father’s day was the glaring omission about the closing of Steve’s Transmission Shop. Yep. Remember this and how it transformed into this? After many months it started looking like this. It continued to look like that for many many weeks afterward. I just couldn’t bring myself to clean that stupid garage AGAIN!But,then I caved and now it is clean and tidy once again. I give it about a month before some other project takes over and turns it back into the garage from hell again.

There were many things I would have written about if it weren’t for my self-imposed gag order. Things like how some teenagers turn into teenassers as they prepare to leave home. Or how challenging it can sometimes be when an adult child moves back home. Or perhaps I would have shared some info on a certain someone’s first girlfriend. Or just maybe I could have spilled the beans about a certain someone’s crush returning their interest. But I didn’t.

Even more important were the things I should have written about. My poor parents are still waiting to see pictures of Amber graduating from college and April & Jon graduating from high school. My grandson came to visit for a week and I didn’t brag even one time about how absolutely adorable he is or tell you about any of the funny antics he got up to like when he was apparently so disgusted with his own body odor that he felt the need to use an entire can of Arrid XX Dry to cover it up. I’ve uploaded many of those pictures to my Flickr site and will get the rest of them up there soon (I promise!)

I probably never mentioned that Vicki has moved into a new apartment with one of her friends. And there may be scores of readers just waiting for news about Amber’s interview in Wichita- like how did it go (Excellent!), did she get the job (Yes!), does it pay well (Yes!). We helped her move into a little apartment in Wichita a couple of weeks ago.

Did I mention that I also started a new job? No? Hmmm…well I did. I’m no longer a SAHM. I’m working here. I am hopeful that this new job will save my sanity. Already, the routine of getting up each morning with somewhere to go and something to do besides cleaning and laundry has brightened my outlook on life.

Sadly, there are probably many more stories that will go untold and questions that will go unanswered, curiosity left unappeased because I have neglected you for so long. I will try to do better :-(

I was happy to see you’ve updated, and managed to give a good synopsis of what has been going on for the last two months! Congrats on the job and I’m glad that you’ve been well and the Engleberts have been busy!
